TiNi AEROSPACE, Inc. is the foremost manufacturer of aerospace mechanisms
employing Shape Memory Alloy
(SMA) materials. The most common of which is an alloy of Titanium and Nickel
or TiNi, where the company derives its name.
Among the products developed and manufactured are a family of high force
release devices called the Frangibolt®, an array of fast
acting Pinpullers, and a host
of other SMA Actuators. These devices are used to secure spacecraft
deployables during launch and then to release them on command once in orbit.
Typical applications include hold down and release of solar panels,
antennae, instrument cover doors, booms, heat shields, radiators, isolation
systems, tether experiments, and other spacecraft components. To date we
have manufactured and delivered over 1000 release mechanisms with a perfect
On-Orbit track record.
TiNi products have been used on such high profile missions as the Clementine
(the first spacecraft to travel to the moon since the Apollo program),
the Mars Global Surveyor Spacecraft, and the Lunar Prospector. They have
also been used on numerous other commercial and government satellites
flown for conducting scientific experimentation, earth observation, and
increasingly for telecommunication purposes.
TiNi Aerospace offers the following products and
services:
TiNi Aerospace manufactures an array of SMA based release mechanisms for aerospace and military applications.
TiNi Aerospace provides engineering, manufacturing and testing for a wide range of Shape Memory Alloy products.
