Ball Aerospace built the WorldView-1 spacecraft for DigitalGlobe. The next-generation commercial remote sensing satellite provides unprecedented high resolution imaging capability for DigitalGlobe's customers, including the U.S. National Geospatial Agency (NGA) and other customers around the world.In addition to the spacecraft bus, Ball Aerospace provided a WorldView 60 camera for the spacecraft. Launched Sept. 18, 2007, WorldView-1 is the world's only half-meter resolution commercial imaging satellite, and provides higher resolution imaging capability than the QuickBird satellite, previously the world's highest resolution commercial Earth imaging satellite in operation.
