The Cable Release Mechanism represents yet another method for supporting and releasing spacecraft deployables using our SMA trigger technology.   In this case, the deployable is secured within a pair of hooks which are folded and locked into the engaged position during launch.  On command, the hooks are released and allowed to rotate thereby releasing the deployable within a fraction of a second. The Cable Release Mechanism may be used with a standard Aerospace grade tensioning cable or with a matching retaining rod and clasp, as shown.
