Pinpuller Model P700

The P700 is another custom Pinpuller configuration manufactured for Space Sciences Laboratory.  Its function is to initiate deployment of the 4.3 meter telescoping IMPACT boom aboard the STEREO spacecraft.  The high retraction force is generated by a stack of Belleville springs housed in the black anodized cover section.  These are released through a secondary ball lock as in our Ejector Release Mechanism (ERM).  As with all TiNi Actuators, the P700 is field resettable using a simple tool provided.
