Ejector Release Mechanism
(ERM)

The ERM shown above is a derivative of our BE2K Ejector. This embodiment is currently being qualified for Northrop Grumman. It incorporates a convenient Actuator enclosure and 2 point mounting flange for easy attachment to a structure. On the opposite end, a #10 size bolt is mounted to the Deployable via a similar but smaller mounting flange. The two sides are firmly connected by torquing the #10 bolt into the Actuator Nose or Coupler. The ERM configuration also incorporates a ball and socket seat on both the Actuator and Coupler side so that each of them can rotate up to ± 10 degrees to compensate for misalignment. Release is accomplished on command, by retracting the detent balls which support the Coupler to the Actuator thereby Ejecting the Deployable as shown. Key features include:

  • 1000 lbf Release in milliseconds

  • Up to +/-10 Degrees of Misalignment

  • Redundant Firing Circuit

  • Auto Shut Off Switches

  • > 100 Cycle Life

  • Easy Manual Reset
